YEREVAN. – Armenia's human rights ombudsman will meet with the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights on Monday.

Karen Adnreasyan said they will discuss the case of Karen Petrosyan, an Armenian captive who died in Azerbaijan.

Andreasyan recalled that he had written a letter to the UN High Commissioner on Refugees in connection with the case of Hakop Injighulyan.

“Unfortunately, the commissioner changed, but we were in direct contact with the High Commissioner's office and handed over a letter to his successor. However, the procedure there is not as fast as we would like it to be,” he said during a press conference on Thursday.

Karen Petrosyan, a 32-year-old resident of Chinari village of Armenia’s Tavush Region, was captured by the Azerbaijanis on August 7, and on the next day, Azerbaijan informed that the young Armenian man had “suddenly” died of an “acute heart failure.”
