YEREVAN. – Armenia still faces problems with the employment of persons with disabilities, Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan said in parliament on Thursday introducing the report of his office for 2013.

He noted that labor quotas provided by the government are not filled. In a conversation with Ombudsman, employers explain that employment of persons with disabilities is not profitable.

“Earlier, they were getting benefits from the government. Now the list of these benefits has been narrowed significantly,” he told the lawmakers.

Meanwhile, state agencies argue the quotas have been cut because companies were hiring persons with disabilities just to get the benefit.
