YEREVAN. - Yerevan City Mayor Taron Margaryan met with the Italian Pesaro City Council Chairman Ilaro Barbanti, Armenian News - NEWS.am reports.

The delegation of Italian City of Pesaro arrived in Yerevan to participate in the celebrations of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2796”.  Mayor Margaryan thanked Ilaro Barbanti for attending the festival of the Armenian capital for the third year in a row.

“The relations between our cities are indeed very warm and friendly. The evidence of these relations is also a Khachkar [cross-stone] that we presented to the city of Pesaro and that symbolizes the friendship between our cities,” Margaryan said.

Ilaro Brabanti also stressed the importance of the relations with Yerevan.

“In addition, we attach significant importance to the decision to install the cross-stone dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. I assure you that it will find its rightful place in our city,” added Barbanti.
