YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received a delegation from the participants in the 16th meeting—which is held in capital city Yerevan—of the Council of the Heads of the Migration Agencies of the CIS Member States.

The delegation was led by Council Chairman Konstantin Romodanovsky, who is also Head of the Federal Migration Service of Russia.

The President wished the council success, underscored cooperation on migration issues, and expressed the hope that the decisions to be adopted at the Yerevan session will have a positive impact in terms of regulating the migration processes in the CIS. He also stressed that together the countries can achieve more in resolving migration matters.

Romodanovsky, for his part, assured that the council carries out professional work for numerous years and maintains close ties with the relevant departments of Armenia, too. In addition, he briefed Sargsyan on the council’s activities and the agenda of its sixteenth meeting.

Romodanovsky noted that Armenia has joined all immigration documents within the framework of the CIS, and it constructively participates in the integration processes.
