YEREVAN. – The latest “street activeness” by the three non-government parliamentary forces (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, and Heritage) cannot be perceived as a threat to the ruling Republican Party (RPA).

Caucasus Institute Director, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan noted the aforementioned at a press conference on Thursday.

In his conviction, these fall street demonstrations in the country do not differ from the previous similar processes.

“This happens every year after summer. In addition, this activeness is quite sluggish. Nonetheless, the political forces need such rallies to strengthen their position in politics,” Iskandaryan said.

The analyst added that since the RPA members have occupied virtually all political platforms in Armenia, it is not at all indispensable for them to see what is happening within the opposition.
