YEREVAN. – Turkey, which strives for the European Union (EU), does not live in democratic values.
Armenian National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov told the aforesaid at the NA on Monday to reporters, commenting on the results of the Armenian delegation’s participation in the 131st Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, which was convened recently in Geneva, Switzerland.
He noted that during its bilateral talks with the European colleagues, the Armenian delegation had conferred on Armenian-Turkish relations and Armenian Genocide recognition.
“The Republic of Armenia has never posited any preconditions for the establishment of relations. Today, Turkey [, on the other hand,] has the last closed border in Europe,” the Armenian parliament deputy chair specifically said.
In his words, the Armenian delegation also extended its gratitude to the parliaments of all countries that have recognized and condemned the Armenian Genocide.
