YEREVAN. – The state of human rights in Armenia is not as terrible as represented by certain political forces, head of parliamentary committee on state and legal affairs Hovhannes Sahakyan said.
The MP said he had made an inquiry to Armenia's investigation committee to clarify whether the criminal cases on violence against detainees are being investigated.
“I was told about 19 cases that were launched last year,” Sahakyan said.
He warned against presenting the situation worse than it is in reality.
