The Kyrgyz authorities have announced their intentions to join the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union as of January 1, 2015.

Gazeta.ru reported the aforementioned citing Chairwoman Valentina Matviyenko of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

According to the source, the respective decision was made during the talk between President Almazbek Atambayev and Prime Minister Djoomart Otorbaev of Kyrgyzstan.

On October 3, Russian President Vladimir Putin had signed the law ratifying the treaty on Eurasian Economic Union.

To note, Armenia signed, on October 10 in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk, the treaty on accession to the Eurasian Economic Union.
