YEREVAN. – Life will not grow worse in Armenia if more Eurasian Union (EaEU) products appear in the country.

“Consumers Association of Armenia” NGO Director Armen Poghosyan told the abovementioned to reporters on Tuesday.

In his view, if anyone is concerned that European products will reduce in Armenia if more EaEU goods enter the country, that person should consider what percentage of Armenia’s population actually buys European products every day.

“The rich man, who used to buy a $700 suit, will continue to buy no matter what customs duties are set.

“European goods certainly are very high quality, but they are unaffordable for the majority of our people in everyday life; and everyone knows this.

“That’s why there is nothing bad for the [Armenian] population in the fact that a large number of products appear [in Armenia] from Russia and Belarus,” Poghosyan stated.

Armenia signed, on October 10 in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk, the treaty on accession to the Eurasian Economic Union.
