YEREVAN. – Criminal case was launched into child trafficking case in Gyumri, representative of investigation committee told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Child trafficking is punished with imprisonment for the term of 2 to 5 years.
AS reported earlier a grandmother is suspected of allegedly selling a newborn to unknown person, acquaintance of her neighbor.
Earlier Pastinfo agency said the citizen of Gyumri petitioned to police in connection with trafficking case. The woman claimed that a person took the baby away, but did not pay $1,000.
