YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan chaired a consultation meeting devoted to the development of fish farming in Armenia.

The event brought together representatives from the country’s fish farming companies, and heads of the relevant departments.

The Premier underscored the implementation of the fish production development programs because, according to Abrahamyan, this domain has great export opportunities, informed the Press Office of the Government.

Agriculture Minister Sergo Karapetyan, for his part, reported that around a 30-percent growth is regularly recorded in Armenia’s fish production in recent years, and this indicator contributes to a larger volume of exports.

In turn, the fish farmers attending the consultation presented their present-day challenges and future projects to the PM.

Hovik Abrahamyan welcomed the fish farming companies’ willingness to make new investments, and informed about that the Armenian government’s assistance in solving the respective problems.
