YEREVAN. – Terrorism is dangerous for everyone, and those who help terrorists are trying to use their weapon for certain purposes, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said during a joint press conference with Lithuanian counterpart Linas Linkevičius.

However, those providing assistance to terrorists as a rule later become victims of the terrorists, the Minister said.

Edward Nalbandian recalled that during the Karabakh war, Azerbaijan was actively using fighters linked to international terrorist groups. Now Azerbaijan says they are fighting against terrorism.

“I am not going to comment on effectiveness of their fight and sincerity of the statements. It is known that many Azerbaijani fighters are among ISIS terrorists,” he said.

In this regard, Edward Nalbandian said that a day before the media, including Azerbaijani sources, reported about elimination of famous Azerbaijani terrorist, the leader of infamous “Karabakh guerrillas” group.

“It should be clear that terrorism can become uncontrollable boomerang. This once again confirms importance of the need to unite efforts of international community for decisive struggle,” Nalbandian emphasized.

Linas Linkevičius, for his part, noted that terrorism has no boundaries. According to him, it is an illusion to think that terrorism is somewhere far away and has no relation to us. Lithuanian FM noted that the EU also helps the fight as much as possible. The Lithuanian Minister added that terrorists hiding behind Islam, in fact, have nothing to do with the religion.
