YEREVAN. – Relations between Armenia and Lithuania are developing dynamically, Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said during a joint press conference with his Lithuanian counterpart Linas Linkevičius.

Minister Nalbandian pointed out opening of Armenian embassy in Vilnius and frequent mutual visits. According to the Minister, Armenian side is interested in further development of bilateral ties.

Minister highlighted the fact of recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Lithuania which proved commitment of the Lithuanian nation and the Lithuanian state to universal values and justice.

Edward Nalbandian and Linas Linkevičius discussed a broad range of issues of mutual interest and agreed to intensify economic, cultural and educational cooperation.

In this context, they underlined importance of creating Armenian-Lithuanian intergovernmental commission. The sides discussed issues of international agenda, Ukrainian crisis, situation in the Middle East. The interlocutors also touched upon Karabakh talks.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister, for his part, noted the potential for development of relations. According to him, Lithuania is ready to develop relations with Armenia in all spheres and considers it as a partner, the only question is to what extent it is compatible with Armenia's new commitments. 

The Minister pointed at potential for boosting trade turnover between the states. Creation of an intergovernmental commission will make the dialogue more active, the Minister stressed.
