YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan has problems in having a place in the international arena, and therefore a strict instruction has been handed down to Armenia’s ambassadors, to exert efforts to raise his international standing, Hraparak daily reported.

“After visiting the US and not being worthy of reception by anyone—albeit the PM visited Iran, but that ‘is not it’—, the ambassadors are put under pressure to organize a ‘normal’ European visit for him, to close the mouth of the ill-wishers.

“And although there is no great enthusiasm among the European states as well as the EU leadership to host him, they have decided to organize a light reception at the EPP [i.e., the European People’s Party] as the RPA [i.e., ruling Republican Party of Armenia] vice-chairman, take his photo with a couple of officials, and issue a [respective] press release.

“The visit is planned be organized within the next ten days,” Hraparak wrote.
