YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan and First Lady Rita Sargsyan on Saturday attended the official opening of the Yerevan Show 2014 international jewelry exhibition, which will run in Armenia’s capital city until October 28 (photos).

The event is held by the Armenian Jewellers Association (AJA) for the fourth consecutive year.

The President toured the pavilions of the exhibition, observed the jewelry items displayed by 125 domestic and foreign companies, and got familiarized with their future plans.

Within the framework of the event, the Industrial Development Foundation plans to convene an investment conference and hold roundtable discussions.

The President and the First Lady of Armenia also participated in the official opening of the contemporary Armenian painters’ and sculptors’ exhibition, where more than one hundred works are displayed.

In addition, Serzh and Rita Sargsyan watched a fashion show, where designers from Armenia and Russia presented their fashion collections.

Subsequently, President Serzh Sargsyan visited the building that hosts the “Meridian” Free Economic Zone, where tax-free jewelry and watchmaking will be conducted for ten years.
