YEREVAN. – The first round of consultations to discuss further cooperation between Armenia and European Union will take place in November.
The consultations will continue in the future, but these are not new talks, EU Ambassador to Armenia Trian Hristea told reporters on Tuesday.
Speaking about the new frameworks of Armenia-EU relationship, Ambassador noted that “ the matter is not about talks. We will discuss with our Armenian partners so-called scoping exercise”.
The Ambassador explained that they wanted to discuss the areas of bilateral cooperation that will not contradict Armenia's new commitments.
Since Armenia signed the Treaty of Accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, the EU would like to know what are the areas in which Yerevan wants to continue the partnership, and in what areas the EU can help to carry out sectoral reforms.
It is about how these areas can coincide with the mandate, about which the sides have to negotiate in the future, he explained.
