The former head of Intel Corporation Craig Barrett met with journalists in Yerevan, where he was awarded by the Armenian President. Asked about Armenia’s education, Craig Barrett said that he had met with students of the Engineering University and got an impression that Armenian students are bright, aggressive and clever. In short, they do not differ from students in other countries. According to him, U.S. public is also concerned over the country’s education system, considering it is also behind other states. He thinks such opinions and discussions should be taken for granted.

Craig Barrett also said that he is aware of Intel Corporation’s interest in investing in Armenia’s education system and organizing trainings for teachers. Intel always tries to employ the cleverest and brightest people, he added. Craig Barrett stressed that the company is informed of successful activities of Synopsys Armenia. He thinks the company will look for followers in Armenia. Mr. Barret, however, did not say anything on behalf of Intel.
