YEREVAN. - One of Armenians, who were in the helicopter, shut by Azeris in violation of the ceasefire, was a 22-year-old crew member Azat Sahakyan, Armenian News - NEWS.am reports.

Sahakyan and his 24-year-old sister live in Armenian City of Charentsavan. Their neighbors told NEWS.am that Azat graduated from Military Aviation Institute, then worked at the airport as a military pilot. According to the neighbors, young man has always dreamed of becoming a pilot.

“Even his father wanted to become a pilot, but couldn’t fulfill his dream by himself, so he fulfilled his dream in his son,” their neighbor Anna Konguzyan told us.

Konguzyan remembered that Azat went for participation in military tranings very excited.

“When we heard the helicopter was shot, we were shocked,” she added.

According to the neighbors, Azat’s mother still believes that her son is alive.

The Azerbaijani armed forces violated the ceasefire and shot down a Karabakh helicopter MI-24 carrying a training flight. Moreover, the Azerbaijani side continued the fire on the already crashed helicopter to prevent the Karabakh side from providing help to the people inside the helicopter. The incident has been already condemned by the co-chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group, the Armenian Foreign Ministry, representatives of the EU and the UN.
