YEREVAN. – Head Armenia’s migration service is convinced that membership to the Eurasian Economic Union will not contribute to increase in migration rate, vice versa.

Gagik Yeganyan named the three important advantages that Armenian migrants working in Russia will get.

“The Eurasian Union will have a common labor market. While working in Russia, the citizens of Armenia and Russia will have the same rights. Nowadays migrants working in Russia should get permission, submit documents and pay the fee. After joining the Union, the fee will be removed,” Yeganyan said.

Secondly, during the term of the labor contract, the migrant and his family members get resident status.

“They have right to live in the country for three years and can leave the country and come back freely,” the official added.

And finally, upon his arrival to Russia a person will get 30 days for registration.
