STEPANAKERT. – Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh) Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan on Thursday visited the Martuni Region.

The head of the NKR government got familiarized with the successes and the challenges of the tobacco sector in the Berdashen sub-region, informed the Government Staff Information and Public Relations Department.

In addition, Harutyunyan convened a respective consultation.

According to the agreement, a tobacco purchasing base will be built in Martuni city, and the total area of tobacco fields will reach around 200 hectares.

The discussants also deliberated on the details of building a reliable irrigation water network in the Martuni Region. PM Harutyunyan stressed that this problem will generally be solved in a short period of time, and by the use of underground water resources.

Subsequently, Ara Harutyunyan paid a visit to the site of a new district which is under construction in Martuni city.
