YEREVAN. – Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction member Sukias Avetisyan is of the view that solely their faction will vote for the country’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

“Had the political wanderings of the past one year not occurred, many would have voted in favor. But, now, I believe only the RPA will take part in the [respective NA] voting,” the party MP said at a press conference on Monday.

To the reporters’ remark that, during their joint rallies, the three non-government NA factions (Armenian National Congress, Prosperous Armenia, and Heritage) speak fervently about the EEU, Avetisyan countered: “I have little faith in their words. So, their positions can change now, too.”

The treaty on Armenia’s accession to the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union is slated for entry into force on January 1, 2015.
