YEREVAN. – Turkey together with Azerbaijan was preparing to include Lavash bread in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage as a Turkic product.

Therefore, the fact of including the bread as an Armenian product was widely covered by Turkish media.

According to Sabah newspaper, several days ago Turkish Culture Minister Omer Celik said Turkey and Azerbaijan were working to include several products in the Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

Armenian bread Lavash has been included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanityduring the Wednesday meeting of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage committee.

“Lavash, the preparation, meaning and appearance of traditional bread as an expression of culture in Armenia” has been included in the list.
