YEREVAN. – The Armenian delegates spoke about Kessab events and blowing up of the Armenian church in Syria at NATO Parliamentary Assembly, member of Armenian delegation at NATO Tevan Poghosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The MP said he personally stressed that there were important documents related to the Armenian Genocide in the church.

“We had an actively participated in the actions of five NATO PA committees where we presented Armenia's positions, and our proposals on resolutions were accepted,” he said.

During the discussions on Syrian crisis, one of the resolutions expressed gratitude to Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey for hosting refugees from Syria.

“We noted that Armenia accepted around 15,000 refugees, too, and emphasized that other states should be included in the resolution,” Poghosyan said.

On September 21 militants of the Islamic State blasted the Holy Martyrs Armenian Church in Deir ez-Zor, Syria.
