YEREVAN. – The economic ties between Armenia and Uruguay need to be strengthened.

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Hovik Abrahamyan, noted the above-said at his talk Tuesday with Danilo Astori, the visiting Vice President and the Speaker of the Chamber of Senators of Uruguay.

The Premier noted that such visits contribute to the enhancement of bilateral relations, informed the Press Office of the Government of Armenia. Abrahamyan also appreciated the level of Armenian-Uruguayan political collaboration.

In turn, Astori expressed willingness to make all efforts to deepen cooperation between the two friendship countries.

In this context, the interlocutors discussed the avenues for making bilateral economic ties grow deeper. In particular, they underscored the holding of an Armenian-Uruguayan business forum, which will give new impetus to mutual investments.

Reflecting on the friendship between the two nations, Hovik Abrahamyan thanked the Uruguay authorities for their warm disposition towards the Uruguayan-Armenian community. Danilo Astori, for his part, highly praised this community’s contribution to the development of Uruguay.
