The official ceremony for the Armenian platoon’s joining the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) multinational mission, and the raising of Armenia’s flag—among the flags of other countries engaged in this mission—took place in Lebanon.

Ever since November 26, the 32-member platoon of Armenian peacekeepers is conducting a peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, and as part of the UNIFIL mission and under the Italian command.

During the ceremony, UNIFIL Joint Forces Commander, Italian Army Brigadier General Stefano del Col welcomed the Armenian peacekeepers and underscored their engagement in this mission.
