YEREVAN. – Armenia's investigation committee launched a criminal case into a murder attempt against an Armenian citizen from Azerbaijani military outpost.

The criminal case was opened on charges of a murder attempt incited by ethnic hatred.

On early Saturday morning, the Azerbaijani snipers fired shots in the direction of Berkaber village of Armenia’s Tavush Region. As a result, two of the bullets that were fired have wounded village resident Aghasi Tamrazyan who was fishing in the reservoir.

Tamrazyan was questioned as an injured party, and an investigation was launched, the committee said in a statement.

As reported earlier, Aghasi was fishing in the reservoir when the Azerbaijanis shot straight at him about ten times; both of his legs were wounded. The man was transported to hospital.
