MOSCOW. – Businessman Armen Zakaryan, who is charged with the murder of a Russian official, is not believed to be a citizen of Armenia. 

The Embassy of Armenia in Moscow informed the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They also reported that there is no other official information at the moment, but actions are taken to clarify the circumstances.  

The Russian Federation (RF) Federal Migration Service Deputy Head of Moscow Department, Nikolai Azarov, had died on November 5 in the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic of the RF, the Russian NTV television reported. According to the source, the incident happened while hunting. 

“Azarov’s friend, MCITY Development construction company director Armen Zakaryan, accidentally fired a rifle shot in the car,” the TV reported. As a result, the shot hit Azarov and he died on the spot.

Zakaryan was detained, and a criminal case was opened.
