YEREVAN. – The European Union (EU) will make a statement very soon in connection with the recent incidents in Armenia.

The Head of the Delegation of the EU to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea, announced the aforementioned at a press conference on Tuesday. He stated this with respect to the most recent attacks on several members of the country’s political opposition.

As per the ambassador, the EU is aware of these incidents.

“[But] for the moment, I would like to refrain from expressing a position on this matter.

“Very soon, we will issue, with our EU partners, a statement related to these incidents. And I would ask you to follow it,” the European Union official noted.

On the evening of December 11, opposition Armenian National Congress National Assembly Faction Secretary Aram Manukyan was assaulted nearby his home. Several days earlier, three other opposition members were beaten.
