YEREVAN. – The criminal case on Yeghishe Gevorgyan, who had fled to Azerbaijan with his family, is not closed.
A criminal case is opened in connection with Gevorgyan’s illegal crossing of the Armenian border, Armenia National Security Service Spokesperson Artsvin Baghramyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
After returning to his homeland, however, Gevorgyan’s restraining order of arrest was commuted to a signature bond on not leaving his place of residence.
On January 10, 2010, Yeghishe Gevorgyan, together with his wife and three children, had crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border at the Yeraskh-Nakhichevan road section, with a vehicle. Yeghishe Gevorgyan (born in 1958) was convicted eight times in Armenia for committing robbery, and he was involved in a murder.
