YEREVAN. – The exchange rate fluctuations are not a reason to demand resignation of the incumbent authorities, speaker of the Armenian parliament Galust Sahakyan said.

“Something happens all over the world: disasters, market fluctuations. This does not mean that the governments must resign,” he believes.

Asked how people should survive ahead of New Year holidays, Sahakyan said “it is not time for advise, but time for seeking solutions that can somehow, the best way we can, help our citizens to mitigate their situation”.

The parliament is holding a closed-door session to debate depreciation of the Armenian dram.
