YEREVAN. – Gazprom Armenia company has not yet applied with a request for raising the price of natural gas it supplies to the country’s consumers.

The Head of the Tariff Department at the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia, Garegin Baghramyan, told the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“To discuss such a matter, the gas operator needs to submit a respective petition to us. So far we haven’t received any such thing,” Baghramyan stated.

The price of Russian natural gas being supplied to Armenia may increase due to the fact that Gazprom Armenia, which is the only supplier of natural gas to the country, gets its revenue from the gas consumers in Armenian drams, but it pays for the Russian gas supply in US dollars, whose exchange rate has sharply increased in recent days.
