YEREVAN. – Davit Vardanyan, the son of Armenia’s Ambassador to Georgia, was released on parole on Thursday after spending 1.5 years in jail, representative of Justice Ministry told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Davit Vardanyan spent two months in hospital to undergo involuntary treatment.

FormerMinister Yuri Vardanyan’s eldest son, Davit Vardanyan, 29, was arrested on the Iran-Armenia border. He was detained while attempting to smuggle drugs at the border.  

The son of Armenia's Ambassador to Georgia has been sentenced to four years and six months in jail on the charges of drug smuggling.
