YEREVAN. – From now on, the newly formed Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia will conduct surveys, monitoring, and special video recordings also by way of an air balloon.

The National Aeronautics Federation of Armenia presented this air balloon to the ministry with a formal ceremony on Friday.

Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations Minister Armen Yeritsyan considered this air balloon a great gift for the ministry.

“We need air balloons primarily for monitoring. [But] we will need the air balloons also for various flights,” the minister said, in particular, adding that this is solely the beginning of collaboration.

The air balloon with the ministry logo is 22 meters high with a 400-kg load capacity, and it is designed to carry a maximum of four people.

The air balloon was first tested on the same day, and right at the courtyard of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia.
