YEREVAN. – The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are trying to find alternatives and creative ways so that the parties to Karabakh could contact with other, U.S. Ambassador John Heffern said during a farewell press conference in Yerevan.

His remark came in response to Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent's request to comment on co-chair James Warlick's recent statements on the need to shift Karabakh talks to a new level.

Ambassador Heffern assured that James Warlick along with Russian and French co-chairs are trying to find ways to move the Karabakh peace process forward.

The main goal of mediators is to make the parties sit at negotiating table, Heffern said, adding that key political decisions must be made at presidential level.

“But there are other formats for bilateral cooperation. The mediators are trying to find these formats that will supplement meetings at the presidential level,” Heffern emphasized.
