With the decision by the Van Municipality of Turkey, a total of 704 place names in Van Province have been renamed their former names

The Van Municipality had asked to submit a list of the former names of villages and neighborhoods, reported Agos Armenian weekly of Istanbul. As a result, a total of 704 place names were submitted to the municipality.     

And the municipal council adopted a decision, with a majority of votes, to give 704 place names in Van Province their former Armenian and Kurdish names.
