YEREVAN. – The Russian device will remain in the Byurakan Observatory of Armenia and continue monitoring the space debris around Earth.

The Government of Armenia made the aforementioned decision at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

Minister of Economy Karen Chshmarityan explained that a display module had earlier been brought to Armenia over from Russia, and as a temporary import. And given the successful implementation of this monitoring program, it was decided to make a three-year extension on the temporary import period of this equipment.

The Byurakan Observatory makes use of this device to research the natural and man-made objects in space, especially the trajectories of spacecraft parts.
