YEREVAN. – Armenian and international lawyers will analyze the wills of those killed during the Armenian Genocide, Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan stated on Thursday.

In her words, the specialists from the Faculty of Law of the Yerevan State University, and the international lawyers will research what legal force these documents may have in terms of preparing compensation claims.

To the query on whether the Ministry of Diaspora can submit these claims to the Turkish government on behalf of the Armenian nation, Hakobyan responded that although the matter is about individual demands, collective demands likewise can be prepared.

“Yes, I, too, am demanding. I demand the millions, billions of dollars in damages which Armenia suffers due to the closure of the border with Turkey. I demand for the millions of unborn children of those killed in 1915. I demand for the discomfort which our compatriots experience for decades, since this matter is not resolved,” the Armenia diaspora minister specifically stressed.
