Commemoration events were held for elderly Istanbul-Armenian woman Marisa Kucuk, who was brutally murdered at home on December 28, 2012.
A requiem service for Kucuk’s soul was offered Sunday at the Armenian church in the Samatya district where she was killed, reported Demokrathaber website of Turkey.
In addition, the Samatya Square became the venue for a mourning event to remember this elderly Armenian woman and the 34 civilians who were killed two years ago, and as a result of a Turkish airstrike on the country’s Ortasu—Roboski, in Kurdish—village on the border with Iraq.
The event organizers noted that the murder of Marisa Kucuk and the Roboski massacre had occurred on the same day and both cases have not been solved to date, and therefore they commemorate these incidents together.
