YEREVAN. – The attacks by Azerbaijani hackers have become more professional in 2014, Armenian information security expert Samvel Martirosyan said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“From the security perspective, the attacks were less last year, as compared to 2013, but last year brought qualitative changes. It became apparent that a growth in [respective] professionalism is observed in the Azerbaijani side,” Martirosyan said, in particular.
In his words, planned cyber-attacks attacks are expected from the Azerbaijani side this year, too, especially after January 20, when Azerbaijan marks “Black Friday.”
“Subsequently, there will be [Azerbaijani cyber-]attacks in late April, in all likelihood, [when the centenary of the Armenian Genocide will be commemorated],” the information security expert stated.
He added that, in the past five years, the Azerbaijani cyber-attacks on the anniversaries of this genocide are more than the respective Turkish attacks.
Samvel Martirosyan also noted that the state agency websites of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic are constantly targeted by these hackers.
