YEREVAN. – We have no reason to provoke a war. The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, stated the aforesaid at the defense minister’s board meeting on Monday, and devoted to the 23rd anniversary of the Armenian army.

“And we [, the Armenian side,] are never the attacker; we don’t need that at all.

“But a payback action has followed and will follow any incident launched toward us.

“Until recently, our retaliatory actions were symmetrical in form.

“[But] from now on, asymmetrical-form payback actions may also occur.

“We are shall be relentless toward those who prepare a catastrophe for us.

“[Yet] we remain convinced that the right [thing] is to agree, the right [thing] is to continue the [Nagorno-Karabakh peace] talks, and to reach agreements under the well-known precepts; and this is possible only in the case of maintaining the ceasefire, and building bridges of trust.

“We are ready for the good, and the bad, alike; all possible options are on my table.

“We can and we must negotiate peace with a clear-headed partner.

“[But] we must, and we definitely will impose peace upon a non-clear-headed adversary,” the Armenian President said, in particular.
