YEREVAN. – The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group and the world community are seriously concerned over the recent escalation on line of contact initiated by Azerbaijan, political analyst Sergey Minasyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

It is the first time when the statement issued by co-chairs addressed a concrete party and called on Azerbaijan “to observe its commitments to a peaceful resolution of the conflict".

“I do not remember any other case, since the Minsk Group have been formed, when the co-chairs made a clear differentiation between the parties,” Minasyan said.

In their statement, the co-chairs called on Azerbaijan to observe its commitments to a peaceful resolution of the conflict, at the same time urging Armenia to take all measures to reduce tensions

“On the other hand, it is clear that we are once again, strange as it sounds on the background of the Ukrainian crisis, sanctions and the deterioration of relations between Russia and West, see a common position of the Minsk Group aimed at preventing the resumption of hostilities,” he added.

The two co-chairs - France and the United States - to put it mildly, are not very satisfied with the developments in Azerbaijan, the analyst resumed.
