YEREVAN. – “They say all measures are suitable in politics. But I believe official Ankara offered a bad service to itself in this matter.”

The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, stated the abovementioned at Thursday’s 5th session of the State Commission on Coordination of the Events Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Sargsyan noted the aforesaid commenting on the letter of invitation, which was sent to him by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Armenian President considered this invitation cynical and shortsighted.

As reported earlier, Erdogan had extended an invitation to Sargsyan to attend the Battle of Gallipoli 100th anniversary event to be held this time on April 24, the same day as the centenary of the Armenian Genocide.
