YEREVAN. – Armenia’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has supported its Russian colleagues in all key issues.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia member and National Assembly (NA) Vice-Speaker Hermine Naghdalyan, who is also head of the NA delegation to the PACE, stated the above-said to reporters on Monday.

As per Naghdalyan, the main issue, however, was depriving the Russian delegation to the PACE of its right to vote.

“Of course, we were against [this], and did not vote in [its] favor,” she added.

In response to a question on why Armenia had decided to abstain from voting and not to vote against Russia, Naghdalyan clarified that a situational decision was made based on the results of the previous voting.

The Armenian parliament deputy chairwoman also informed that the Armenian delegation did not support the petition for recognizing the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as terrorist organizations.

“We, of course, voted in favor of Russia here,” Hermine Naghdalyan noted.
