STEPANAKERT. – Reporters of the New York Times newspaper visited Karabakh with visas issued by the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), spokesperson for NKR Foreign Ministry Ani Sargsyan said.

Her remarks came in response to an inquiry by De Facto to comment on allegations by Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry that reporters visited NKR “in accordance with Azerbaijan's laws”.

Neil MacFarquhar, Moscow bureau chief of The New York Times, addressed NKR Foreign Ministry with a request to help newspaper's reporters – David Herszenhorn, photographer Sergey Ponomaryov and interpreter Alexander Odynova – to get media accreditation in NKR.

“The reporters got accreditation in NKR Foreign Minsitry's department on information and public relations. They were also given entry visas to NKR,” Sargsyan assured.
