In 2014, the Social Services Center, which Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II had founded at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, has transferred $1.5 million to the Armenian living in Syria, and provided around 80 million drams (approx. $16,5760)-worth of assistance to more than 25,000 disadvantaged residents of Armenia.
Center Director, Fr. Isahak Poghosyan, said the aforementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.
“The important precept of the center is to assist all segments of our people in the material and spiritual-moral directions,” Fr. Poghosyan added.
He also informed that this year the Social Services Center plans to expand its charitable activities.
