Armenia has maintained its position from last year and is still ranked 78th in the new annual World Press Freedom Index by the international organization Reporters Without Borders.

Azerbaijan, on the other hand, has dropped two spots from last year’s report and is now 162nd, thus joining the list of 25 countries with the worst indicators. The new index adds that Azerbaijan has the largest number of imprisoned journalists and bloggers in Europe.

Separately, Georgia has improved its position in the World Press Freedom Index by fifteen places and is ranked 69th. Nonetheless, as per the report, a media polarization trend is observed in this country.

Turkey has improved its ranking by five spots and is in 149th place. But there is still Internet censorship in this country.

According to the 2015 World Press Freedom Index, however, two-thirds of the 180 countries surveyed for the index have performed less well than in the previous year.
