The Russian border guards in Armenia have prevented an attempt to smuggle goods into the country. Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Russian department of border in Armenia that Iranian citizen F. tried to bring dental equipment into Armenia with a bus on Monday, and while crossing the border from the Agarak customs control checkpoint of Armenia.
As a result of the vehicle’s joint inspection with the Armenian customs officers, however, more than 100 units of smuggled goods were discovered under the driver’s seat.
The contraband and the lawbreaker were handed over to Armenian law enforcement at the Meghri customs checkpoint, for further investigation.
The value of the smuggled goods is being determined.
