YEREVAN. – Georgia attaches great importance to expansion of cooperation with Armenia, based on centuries-long friendship between the two peoples, Georgian Parliament Speaker David Usupashvili said during his meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

Minister Nalbandian highly appreciated the positive development of the Armenian-Georgian friendly relations, emphasizing that inter-parliamentary contacts have an important role in deepening of relations between the states. Edward Nalbandian expressed confidence that the visit of David Usupashvili will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation. Armenian FM considered symbolic that the parliamentary delegation of Georgia also includes Armenian deputies.

The sides noted with satisfaction that the Armenian-Georgian relations are at a high level. Referring to economic cooperation, David Usupashvili and Edward Nalbandian stressed the importance of the tenth session of the intergovernmental commission. 

The parties also discussed to regional problems. Armenian Foreign Minister informed about the efforts of Armenia and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
