YEREVAN. – The Minister of Economy of Armenia, Karen Chshmarityan, on Tuesday met with the representatives of Honeywell, a company which specializes in the development of management and automation of electronic systems.

Chshmarityan noted that the backbone of the Armenian economic policy development is the creation of an innovation system, and within this framework, he welcomed the potential cooperation with this company.

In turn, Arthur J. Simonetti, Vice President on Government Relations at Honeywell International, stated that the company’s innovative solutions are widely used in various economic sectors such as energy, environment, health care, defense, space, chemical industry, aviation, and transportation.

He also noted that Honeywell aims to increase its activities in Armenia, and to this end, the company has signed an agreement with the State Engineering University of Armenia, pursuant to which Honeywell gives 100 academic licensed programs to the university. In addition, software users can easily study and share the knowledge of technological process, and this program will allow students to gain knowledge required by Honeywell standards, and work in research centers of the company.

During the meeting, potential cooperation projects in energy efficiency, innovation policy, and information technology were also discussed.
