YEREVAN. – Armenia’s cigarette exports have increased by 1.7 times in 2014 and reached $116.6 million.

The aforesaid is stated in the country’s statistical data for last year’s foreign trade.

According to the Customs Service of Armenia, the natural exports have increased by 76 percent and totaled around 10.7 billion cigarettes. 

The exports to Arab countries have increased considerably in one year, and Iraq has become the largest importer; the cigarette exports to this country grew by 71 percent and amounted to $79.1 million.

Exports to the United Arab Emirates have increased by 44 percent and reached $3.27 million.

Armenia’s cigarette exports have also increased to Jordan—by virtually eighteen times and totaling around $3.35 million—and Syria—by more than six times and amounting to $18.26 million.
